How The Family Business Got Started & How It's Going
At the age of 26, Nicholas Watts had spent his adult life working in multiple factories around the Clyde, OH area. Most recently, he was an assembly operator at Whirlpool, Corp. in Clyde. After several years under the guidance and supervision of his father, Brian Watts, Nicholas formed Watts Home Improvements, LLC on July 23rd, 2023. With limited experience in the construction field, Nicholas relied heavily on his father's knowledge and expertise.
As project manager, Brian Watts was no stranger to working in construction. With more than 40 years in the field, Brian has done nearly every job you can think of in the industry. Starting at the age of 15, Brian began taking carpentry classes at EHOVE Career Center where he discovered his passion for woodworking. After graduation, he joined the Army Engineers Division where he would later receive an honorable discharge and go on to form two separate construction companies of his own. Unfortunately, a lack of dependable help as well as declining physical mobility, caused him to close up shop and retire from the construction field in late 2010.
After several years of working in a stamping plant, manufacturing car parts, Nicholas asked his Dad if he would help him work on a friend's house and the rest is history. Nicholas and his Dad began working nearly every weekend on friends and family's homes doing odd jobs. They quickly came to realize how easy it was working together and how much they enjoyed the time they spent together. After thoughtful consideration, Nicholas made the decision to pick up where his Dad had left off and start his own company. Brian is thrilled to be working alongside his son to help him achieve his dream. With the support of his wife, Paige, Nicholas looks forward to helping the Northwest Ohio community for many years to come.
